Thailand is the world No. 1 exporter of durian. In Thailand, durian is the King of Fruits famous for its spiky exterior, strong smell with rich, creamy, custard-like texture. There are plenty of varieties in Thailand such as Monthong (Golden Pillow) the most famous and widely exported variety. It has thick spikes, a mild smell, and pale yellow, smooth, sweet flesh with small seeds, Kanyao (Long Stem) a variety known for its perfect round shape and long stem, offering an incredibly smooth, sweet, and buttery flavor, and Chanee, a variety known for its stronger aroma, dark yellow flesh that is syrupy when overripe, and a creamier, slightly bitter-sweet taste.
Rambutan is a hairy tropical fruit famous for its sweet, juicy, and grape-like flesh. In Thailand, the most famous variety is the Rong Rien Rambutan that is well known for its sweet, thick, dry flesh that can easily be removed from its seed. And another variety is the See Chompoo Rambutan that is a bit less sweet but also quite popular.
Mangosteen
Pomelo
It's a little fruit the size of a golf ball, known as the "queen fruit" in southeast Asia. It owes its reputation to its thirst-quenching flesh. Mangosteen is rich in antioxidants and vitamins, which are thought to boost immunity, fight inflammation, and protect against diseases like cancer.
Pomelos are a major part of Thai agriculture and cuisine, known for their large size and sweet, refreshing taste. Pomelos are the largest citrus fruits, reaching sizes of 10-30 cm in diameter. Thailand exports over a million tons of pomelos annually.
Lychee
Coconut
Lychees are high in antioxidants, Vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Eating them can help protect you from illness and give your heart health a boost.
Coconuts are an important economic crop for Thailand, and they are also classified as being among the so-called ‘Superfood'. Thailand is one of world's largest producer and exporter of coconuts.
